Backstage


The Story
Currently during a webinar, there is no safe space for host and panelists to be able to prepare for the webinar and/or talk with each other while the session is live​

The Ask: Create an area where the host and panelists can move in and out of a webinar.

Current Experience
Our group did extensive research on our product on different devices along with competitors.

Panelists can run late to webinars.

Prevents host from making sure that they are “presentation ready” before webinar begins

Panelists come and go, causing interruptions during events.

Hosts and panelists are hacking together solutions that require them to jump around different places

Currently the only options to communicate within the webinar is to join before the session starts to be able to coordinate or rely on the chat feature during.​

Panelists in the live webinar space can “steal the active speaker” unintentionally from the show
Competitive Audit

Key Findings
• Some offer the practice room experience (where people meet before the session starts) where they can start/stop the live session if they need to meet
• Those that have a 'backstage' experience have limited features or does not feel like a true backstage experience.
Design Approach
• Make it clear to the user where they are during the live session (backstage or main webinar)

• The user can comprehend what is going on backstage and what they can or cannot do

• Create a more polished & more produced zoom experience

• Easier experience to curate & control attendee experience

• Being able to go back and forth between backstage and the main session
• Able to verbally communicate with others backstage knowing that you cannot be seen or hear in the main session

• Being able to share content backstage with others
